Laura Slater is a multidisciplinary textile designer working across process, pattern, print and product solutions for the body or space (fashion & interiors). She has been developing her practice since completing her MA in Mixed Media Textiles at The Royal College of Art in 2007.
Her work is about the use of the hand created, specifically through drawing concepts and colour into the making process.
She embraces the use of traditional textile techniques and her work aims to challenge the reinvention and reinterpretation of their presence within contemporary design and bespoke outcomes.
This design collection evolved from the development of exploring the use of architectural qualities of line and linear drawing concepts and the interaction of colour and pattern.
