Custom shaped rugs & custom design
Area Rugs were commissioned to design and make two rugs to define the seating area within this busy reception of a Law Firms head office in London.
The seating area was frequently used, and the client specified the wish that the rugs compliment the space without creating a barrier to people passing through into the adjacent meeting rooms and, that they took design and colour reference from the art work already in the reception area.
As part of our service we provide an extensive collection of Colour tufts (pre-dyed yarn) in a presentation box, this enables both parties to discuss, visualise, and match to the furniture, interior and Art work in the reception.
Bespoke Designs and samples
These colour tufts taken away for area rugs to create designs and colour match to so that samples could be made to show a section of how the design and colours would work together.
We created several unique designs that took influence from the paintings in the reception area and used the colour tufts that were chosen to compliment the furniture colours and seating covering.
Bespoke Design and a pattern template were created
A plastic pattern template was also created based on the sizes and shape discussed at the initial meeting, this was taken to the second site meeting presentation for approval. This template used on site allowed the client to see the scale of the rugs and at this point it was decided that the rugs could be made slightly bigger to allow the existing furniture to have more room space.
Custom Hand Tufting Rug
We created the two hand tufted rugs in our studio workshop in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. All the colours were dyed specifically to order and matched to the tufted samples provided.
