HSBC LOBBY AREA RUGS - 8 Canada Square, London

Replacement rugs for this high traffic lobby area.

Consultation

We were approached by the Facilities Manger to redesign and replace the dark grey rugs which were positioned in this head office seating area. This area sustained high volumes of traffic throughout the day and therefore needed to be durable as well as compliment the strong existing interior decoration and brand colours.

Bespoke design and samples

In the original space the surface area consisted of six barrier mats which were interchangeable, this was a key element in the commission to have the new designs to be able to be a similarly interchangeable design within the space which they cover.

Discussions of the design and technical requirements

Discussions of the design and technical requirements and design concepts with the Facilities Manager and translated these into various design options and samples prior to our first meeting. At this meeting we showed the facilities Manager our wide range of colour tuft samples and the design ideas hand tufted samples, which assisted in the client being able to visualize them in the space.

We were commissioned to produce three interchangeable rugs for the lobby area and a fourth one for the concourse area. As you can see from the photographs the new rugs add a striking design feature and compliment the decor and furniture well.

Custom yarn dying and hand tufting

From the colour samples choose we instructed our local dyer to produce the yarn required for the commissions and all four rugs were hand tufted rugs in our studio workshop in Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

Personal Delivery and Installation

Area Rugs quality assured delivery and installation service of the rugs into the lobby and concourse area, they are personally fitted within the space, checked and furniture positioned correctly for the client.
